Swimming Lessons

I started swimming lessons this week. The very first thing I had to to was sit on the steps and reach for a plastic ring that was on the step below me. Some of my friends were braver than me and reached right down and picked up their ring. This means their heads went all the way UNDER the water. I reached my ring with my toes and picked it up with my foot - I did NOT put my head under the water. My teacher, Miss Karla, tried all lesson long to get me to pick up that ring, but I just couldn't do it! Mommy was giving me a bath after swimming lessons. Our conversation went like this:
Mommy: Allie, are you going to reach that ring at swimming lessons tomorrow?
Me: If my arms grow longer I will.
Mommy thought this was hilarious.

On Day 2 of swimming lessons I felt a little braver. This is Miss Karla and me and some of my buddies. Miss Karla is trying to persuade me to blow bubbles.

Like this . . .

I finally got brave enough to put my mouth in the water and blow bubbles!

We played Ring Around the Rosie, but I did not go under the water all the way - only to my eyelashes, Miss Karla said. When it got time for our lesson to be over, Miss Karla asked, "Who is going to go under the water tomorrow?" All of my friends raised their hands and said "Meeeeee!" So, I did too. Miss Karla said, "Allie, you are going to go under the water tomorrow?" And I said, "NO . . . . today!" And I did!

After swimming lessons, I enjoyed swimming with my friends! Here's Caroline!
We also played a fun game called "Boat Wars." I am looking forward to swimming lessons tomorrow! By the way, Caroline and I are in the green "boat" and Amelia is in the blue "boat." My new friend, Ava is in the water.
