Bugs

I absolutely DO NOT under any circumstances like bugs. I don't like to hear them, or see them, or especially feel them crawling on me. I made Mama Kaye take me inside after one landed on my arm. We were on a walk and I was so upset about that bug landing on me that I made her carry me back to the house. I didn't go outside for the rest of the day. Another time I was playing soccer with Amelia and Daddy and Mr. Chris (Amelia's Daddy) when a bug found me. I cried and made Daddy put me in the car and leave the park. I just don't like them! Mommy told me about a special kind of bug called a lightning bug. We have looked at these bugs out the window for several days. When we went outside, Mommy caught one in her hand and let it crawl around. She told me I could hold it and it wouldn't hurt me at all. I didn't buy it . . . Mommy ended up catching a bunch of those bugs and put them in a jar for me.

This is as close to those bugs as I could stand to get. Mommy handed me the jar, but I threw it down.

Who needs bugs????? Not me!

Gatlinburg

After we went to St. Louis we went to Gatlinburg! The highlight of our trip to the mountains was seeing real live bears in the wild at Cades Cove. Daddy didn't get to go on this trip. He had to work. I went with Mommy, Nana, Papa, and Mama Flo. Aunt Judy and Uncle Phil met us there! When Mommy told Daddy about getting out of the cars to see the bears he told Mommy we are now "officially crazy." Crazy or not, the bears were amazing!
The first bear we saw was a cub napping in a tree.

A little later we saw this one in a field. Someone said there were 3 cubs in a tree across the field, but we couldn't see them. Can you see them?

Then came the most exciting part! A mama and baby crossing the road! Here comes Mama Bear.

Baby Bear wasn't too far behind.

Mama Bear is soliciting donations!

Here comes Baby Bear.

After the bears crossed the road, Aunt Judy left the bears a donation! Mama Bear is almost as tall as Aunt Judy!

Ballgame

One last St. Louis post . . .
We went to a Cardinals game!

Is that Fred Bird I see?

This is a loud place. I learned to cover up my ears!

I had lots of snacks at the game! I shared with Mommy, Daddy, and Mama Kaye!
Water . . .

French fries with ketchup . . .

An ice cream cone (there are no pictures of the pizza, the Dippin' Dots, or the cupcake that was as big as my head) . . .

Gaga

My sweet great-grandmother Gaga went to Heaven. We will miss you, Gaga.

Fred Bird

Fred Bird is the St. Louis Cardinal's mascot. Mama Kaye bought me my very own Fred Bird. I took him to the baseball game with me (along with the pony from Grant's Farm).

We were all surprised when we crossed the street and headed towards the stadium and saw Fred Bird himself! He picked me up and I had my picture made with him!

Grant's Farm

First we hit the carousel! I rode a deer. Mommy and Daddy rode too!

Next, we went to a bird show.

I was SURE this was a cat. What is a cat doing in a bird show anyway?

Then Daddy showed me how to feed a goat a bottle.

I got to feed the goats too!

Then we went to see the giant Clydesdales.

Mama Kaye let me pick TWO things at the gift shop. ENOUGH PICTURES!!!!!!

St. Louis Arch

St. Louis . . . are you ready for me?

We rode the MetroLink ("choo choo train") to the Arch. I was a little worried!

Here it comes - and it's loud!

When we got off the train we could see the Arch!

WOW!

It's thaaaaaaaaaat big!

I had so much fun running around.

I love St. Louis so far!
