One More Easter Post

I had breakfast with the Easter Bunny last Saturday at church! Miss Kathy and Dr. Rob told us about the meaning of Easter.

Each egg had a symbol of the Easter story.

After the Easter story, Miss Kathy told us why chicks and bunnies are symbols of Easter. They represent new life, just like Jesus. After the serious stuff, it was time for fun! I got to hold the Easter Bunny's hand and lead my friends to the egg hunt!

While I was inside, Daddy and Audrey's Papa hid the eggs!

They did a great job! Ready, Set, GO!

We played games after the egg hunt.

YIPPEE!

Then we had donuts (my favorite) and orange juice.

And, of course, a craft!

Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, Mommy and Nana and I got up early and went to church. These are my church friends, Mary Kate, Audrey, Russell, and Amelia. We ate strawberries, grapes, and blueberry muffins for snack.

Mommy and I wore our new Easter dresses.

I insisted we make a picture with silly faces!

After church, we went to Nana's for brunch. Aunt Lori was there. I love her!

After eating it was egg coloring time!
Nana helped me make the prettiest eggs!

Happy Easter!

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!

Holy Cross Egg Hunt

Today I had my first real Easter Egg hunt of the year. Mommy and I have been hiding eggs and hunting them for weeks, but this was the real thing . . . lots of eggs with candy inside and hunting with preschool friends! Here is Ms. Angie getting us all lined up and ready to hunt.

Ms. Angie is so wonderful. She explained to everyone that God gave us all different gifts . . . and running speeds, and that not all of us would be as fast at collecting eggs as others. She told us what an image of God we would be if we saw that a friend had not gathered as many eggs as we had, and we shared our eggs with them. It was so sweet after the hunt to see my friends looking around at eachothers baskets and sharing eggs. Everyone got lots of eggs!

On the hunt!

This is "my sweet buddy" Jasmine.

Did you notice my cute shirt? Mama Kaye embriodered it for me!
This egg was my favorite! An ice cream cone Easter Egg! Sadly, it did not have ice cream inside, just jelly beans! I'll settle for jelly beans.

Another Pretty Dress!

Mama Kaye surprised me by making me this sweet dress and sending to me in the mail. Did you know that I love to get mail?

It has cute yellow chicks and pink tulips. I love the bow in the back! Here are my sweet friends, Audrey and Amelia.

Guess what? Mommy took me to buy a yellow hairbow to match my new dress. I spotted this kitten (whom I have named, Kitten) and had to have her. Since she was only a dollar, Mommy said okay.
Olivia and me . . .
. . . being silly. What else would you expect?

Easter Dress

Cousin Emily made me the most beautiful dress!

Isn't the smocking gorgeous? Cousin Melissa did the sweet tatting on the sleeves - you can barely see it in this picture. The fabric pattern is called "Over the Moon" and has a nursery rhyme theme. You can see a close-up of it here.

Statue

My assignment in Kindermusik this past week was to make a statue. We could make anything . . . so of course I chose a kitty cat.

Mommy and I decided to use paper mache to make my statue. I mixed up flour and water for the paste.

Then we soaked strips of newspaper in the paste and stuck them to the balloon.
Before the paint.
Mommy forgot to take any pictures of me painting my sculpture . . . maybe because I demanded my cat be purple (my favorite color). Mommy was thinking black or brown - you know, real cat colors. The directions for the statue encouraged CREATIVITY. My cat is purple, it has one brown eye and one blue eye, a blue nose, and a green mouth . . . now that's creative. By the way, my teacher loved it!
