Bored in the Basement
We had a bad storm a few days ago so we headed down to the basement. We can't even hear it raining when we are down there. I was bored so Mommy looked through her teaching stuff that is in the basement (you know she doesn't have her own classroom since she is working part-time so all of her teaching tools are in the basement - Daddy is not thrilled about this and makes her throw her stuff out as often as he can . . . but this is another story for another day). Mommy found a package of these magic-tablet-thingies that Mama Kaye gave her for her kids at school a long time ago. You put them in warm water and let them soak a while.
Pretty soon a creature pops out.
I had elephants and rhinos and giraffes and anteaters and leopards and monkeys. I had so much fun playing with them that Mommy let me bring them upstairs.
I squeezed the water out of them and lined them up on the cookie sheet. When they were all out of the water, I just started over again and put them back in the water. I played with them for a long time! I'm glad Mommy didn't throw these away!

Mama Flo's Birthday
Okay . . . so this is a little late since Mama Flo's birthday was July 9. Better late than never, right? We went to celebrate my great-grandmother's 85th birthday. It was a surprise. She thought we were going to celebrate Independence Day. But we had a cook out at Papa's house (this is her Daddy - my great-great-grandfather) with 2 birthday cakes and home-made ice cream and presents! Melissa made this beautiful cake.
I had so much fun playing with my cousins. They played hide-and-seek with me, baseball, and helped me ride Mommy's tricycle!
My cousins' friend Bethany came to play. We took a walk in the soybeans.
I saw a deer, a frog and a turtle while I was there.
Braden and I looked for other creepy crawlies.
We also had fireworks!

Fun in the Sun
My Mimi and Piwup got this for me when I turned TWO. Why is my Mommy just now letting me play with it?
It's lots of fun!
After I played in the water for a while, I decided to play with my sand and water table.
Then I played in my turtle sandbox (with PINK sand).
I was so sandy that Mommy hosed me down before she let me get into the pool.
My Mama Kaye and Joel brought it all the way from Memphis for me. It has a slide!

Kookin' with Kathy
Miss Kathy is the Children's Ministries Director at my church. I love her. Each Wednesday afternoon she cooks with the children of my church! Today Mommy let me go cook with Kathy! This is Miss Kathy and the kids. She told us we would be making grilled cheeses and peanut butter cookies.
This is Mrs. Ross. See all of the crusts she and Mr. Ross cut off?
Mr. Ross and Miss Kathy helped me make my grilled cheese.
Here is Amelia making her grilled cheese. She was not too sure about it!
YUM (notice the ketchup??????)
While the cookies were baking we sang some songs and played some games. This was the first time I heard about Father Abraham.
And this was my first Duck Duck Goose game.
Then it was cookie time!
I love playing with my big friends, Seth, Kaitlyn and Caroline.

Paris Landing Picnic
Today we went to Paris Landing. Amelia and her Mommy and Daddy came. Papa and Nana came and Daddy and Mommy too! We played a while, took a walk to see the lake, we ate, and then we played some more.
Papa pushed me in the swing.
Then I pushed Papa in the swing!
Peek-a-boo! I see you!
Mommy: Stand still so I can take your picture. Say cheese.
Allie and Amelia: Cheeeeeeeeeeeese (while dancing and jumping).
We threw rocks in the lake.
Mommy: Sit still on that fence so I can take your picture. Say cheese.
Allie and Amelia: Like this? Hehehe!
Ohhhhhh . . . like this! Cheeeeeeeeeese!
After we ate, Amelia and her Mommy and Daddy swung.
Daddy and I climbed and went down the slide.
Again . . .
And again! 'Mone Daddy!
