Horton Hears a Who!

Last Sunday I took my first trip to the movies with Mommy and YaYa. We went to see "Horton Hears a Who!"

I loved the booster seat and the rocking chairs!

I loved the previews and the first 15 minutes of the movie. I took my socks and shoes off and then I wanted down. Mommy wouldn't let me get down so I cried. She told me we would have to leave if I cried. But that was okay, because PaPa let me play his car game.

Then Papa and I went for a walk. We picked a flower for Mommy. Next, I tried to run to a puddle in the grass, but PaPa caught me before I got there. What a fun time! I hope I get to go to the movies again soon!

My Computer

Daddy was put out with Mama Kaye when she bought this computer for me. It says ages 3+, but maybe I AM ready for it!!!!

Just Like Daddy . . . AGAIN

Not only do I look like my Daddy . . . but I also organize like him. I like things nice and neat and in order. This is what I do to my bath toys every night before I get out of the tub.

I like to spend time with Mommy and Daddy doing puzzles. This fish puzzle is my favorite. I am not great at getting the pieces in yet (you might see me signing "help" to Mommy at the beginning of this video) but I CAN match the colors!

Breakfast With the Easter Bunny

Mommy took me to church today. I didn't even have to sit still and be quiet! I got to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny! I met Amelia there. We had a great time! First, I tried a donut. I didn't like it at all. I spit it out! Next I played some fun games and won some prizes. Then I went on an egg hunt. I found two eggs and was very pleased with myself! Last, I met my new friend, Mr. Easter Bunny. Wow . . . I sure do love that guy. There weren't many kids around when I went to see him, so I spent some extra time with him. I hugged him, patted him, rocked him, gave him five, shook his hand, and sat in his lap. While I was doing all of this, the paparazzi showed up. Not only was Mommy taking pictures, but also a photographer for the newspaper AND a photographer for a local magazine! I felt like a movie star! Aunt Lori and Braden came in as we were getting ready to go. Braden played games and got his picture taken too! We had a wonderful time!

Mommy knew she would be in trouble with Daddy for bringing me home from my Great Grandmother Flo's with this boo-boo on my nose. I fell right on the pavement! Ouch!

Tubes

Today I had my ear tube surgery. I had to be at the hospital at 6:15 this morning! Dr. Kest was able to put a tube in my left ear, but not my right one. He said my ear canals are very tiny. He made an incision in my right eardrum that will allow my ear to vent and drain, but he was afraid he would damage my ear drum by trying to make the tube go in. After the surgery, I came home and slept until 1:00! This afternoon I woke up with a smile and was ready to eat! I had wheat toast with peanut butter and strawberries (my new favorite food). Mommy didn't think to take the camera to the hospital, but she did take a few pictures with her camera phone.

200th Post!!!!! Snow!

What a great day I have had! It snowed! I mean really snowed! I don't know what happened to spring, but I like this snow! YaYa (whose name was formerly GrandMother, might now be called Nana, because that's what I called her last night)brought me a pretty red sled! Most of the snow in my yard had melted by this afternoon when she came over, so we went to the snow out on the deck. I got to sit in my sled while YaYa/GrandMother/Nana spun me around and around. It was great fun! Then YaYa/GrandMother/Nana gave me a bite of snow. Who knew you could eat it too? I love this stuff!

Buttercups

Mommy says that buttercups mean spring is on its way! Hooray!

Mmmmmm Bread

Last Sunday at church, a lady named Miss Jill bent down to talk to me. Mommy and YaYa know Miss Jill, but I have never talked to her before. Miss Jill had just bought 3 loaves of homemade bread (for a fundraiser). Those loaves of bread were right at my eye-level when she squatted down to talk to me. They looked sooooooo yummy. I signed "more" to Miss Jill before I even said hello to her. Thank goodness Miss Jill knows sign language AND thinks I am cute. Guess what she did? She gave me a loaf of her bread. A whole loaf! I peeled the plastic off and started eating it right away. I ate and ate and ate until I couldn't hold any more bread. Thanks Miss Jill! By the way . . . why was my Mommy so embarrassed?

I'm too big to sit in the school bus AND NOW I'm too big to sit in the polka-dot chair . . . life is tough!

20 Months Old!

Can you believe it? Only 4 more months until I'm a "terrible two!" I went to see Dr. Debi today because my ears are still hurting. She warned Mommy last time that if I still had fluid in my ears that we would need to talk about tubes. Mommy was not too happy about this. Do you know anything about ear tubes? Good or bad? If you do, please let my Mommy and Daddy know by posting a comment, or sending an e-mail. Dr. Debi says my ears are not infected or even red this time (yet), but they are full of fluid. We have an appointment with an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist in Paducah on Thursday. Daddy has done some research online about ear infections today. He read that babies who are older than 10 months and still use pacis are more likely to get ear infections. He also read that drinking from sippy cups with valves also cause ear infections - or at least make them worse. So guess what that means for me? Bye-bye paci. Yes, cold turkey (whatever that means). I do miss paci and was signing "more" as Mommy was rocking me to sleep tonight, but I do have my lovie, so I think I'll be alright. I 'll keep you posted! Mommy also took the valve out of my sippy cup today. I almost drowned while getting a drink - haha . . . not really. It took me a few drinks to get used to it without the valve. Now I can dump my drink out all over the floor and spill it in my highchair tray - yay!! What a day. . . Please don't forget to post a comment or send an e-mail if you know ANYTHING at all about ear tubes. Mommy and Daddy say thanks!

More Busy Baby Club Fun

Mommy didn't have to work today since it is President's Day. We went to church to play! Amelia was there, and Macey brought her sister Caitlyn. I loved her! Caitlyn showed me something new . . . how to have a tea party. It was fun to pretend.

Snow Day

Not For Those With Weak Stomachs . . .

I have really had a passion lately for putting things "in." I love to put my dishes in the oven, my blocks in their bag, balls in my train, my shapes in the shape sorter, and most of all - putting anything and everything that will fit into my nose (including but not limited to: my fingers, yogurt, carrots, cheerios, peas, chicken nuggets, and most recently - macaroni). Why doesn't Mommy think this is cute?

I have discovered a new way of sitting on my Diego riding toy. Fun! I also like to STAND UP on the seat. When I do this though, Mommy and Daddy are not reaching for the camera, they are running to get me down. What's the big deal anyway?

Kindermusik

Today was my first Kindermusik class. I had a great time! The class is called "Sing and Sign." I am going to learn more sign language! My teacher's name is Ms. Elaine. She sang a song with my name in it! I thought she was amazing! I made some new friends - and my good friend Caroline came too!

Ms. Elaine was teaching me the sign for ball.

Ms. Elaine blew bubbles. I loved them. Mommy says she will blow bubbles with me at home! My new friend Campbell jumped right when Mommy snapped this picture! Funny, huh?

Ms. Elaine took me for a fun ride on this blanket. When she stopped, she showed me the sign for stop. Then she showed me the sign for more. Guess what? I already know that sign! I signed "more" and Ms. Elaine told me I earned an A+ for the day!

19 Months Old!

Well, I have finally done it. Tonight I climbed onto the couch all by myself. I have been wanting to do this for quite a while! Mommy was so sad - she couldn't get the camera quick enough!

Photo Album

YaYa got me a photo album for Christmas. She put in pictures of all of my family. I love looking at it. Mommy and Daddy remind me of the names of all of my family members. Now I know everyone in it!

My New Play Place

While Mommy was cooking breakfast Sunday and Daddy was sleeping in, I was playing in the living room and watching Sponge Bob. Mommy checked on me lots of times. I decided I would have to be fast to pull this off . . . I pulled all of the toys out of my toy crate and then I got IN!

Then I decided to call Daddy on the phone to tell him what I had done.

Snowflake Outfit

Mama Kaye made me this very cute snowflake outfit. I wore it to church today. And guess what Mommy tried to put in my hair again . . .

NO BOWS!!

I do not like bows! I pull them out quicker than Mommy puts them in. When will she learn?

Smart Baby!

I got a BarnYard from my GrandPa for Christmas. I love playing with the farm animals. Here they are. Watch what I can do!

By the way . . . I went to the doctor today for my 18 month check-up. I now weigh 23.9 pounds (30th percentile) and am 30 inches tall(between the 5th and 10th percentile). My head is 18.3 inches (50th percentile). Dr. Debi says I have a big brain :)

Throwing

Daddy has been teaching me how to throw a ball. It is great fun! It is so much fun that I have been throwing everything. I even threw my toys in church Sunday. Thanks Daddy for teaching me how to throw!

Happy Birthday, Caroline!

I had a fabulous day today. My dear friend, Caroline, turned one. She invited me to her birthday party. It was amazing. I had my first Happy Meal, met Ronald McDonald, saw a magic show, played with my friends AND I got a balloon and a hat! Caroline's party started at my nap time. Mommy let me go anyway - but we had to leave early. I was sad that I didn't get to see Caroline eat her cake. Her mommy took pictures and posted them on her blog. Mommy copied them so you can see! After the party I came home and napped for 2 hours! My plan now is to play all night long!

Christmas - Round 4

We went to Mama Flo and Daddy Loren's house on Sunday. This was our last Christmas celebration. I had a great time with my family. Mommy says we are so blessed!

Christmas - Round 3

We went to Mama Kaye's last weekend to celebrate Christmas. We had so much fun playing on Friday! Then on Saturday we had presents to open and a LARGE meal to eat. I took a 3 hour nap with Aunt Cympy and woke up with a high fever. Mommy and Daddy and Cympy took me to the doctor in Memphis and guess what???? I had an ear infection in both ears! I was so sad. The doctor gave me some tasty medicine and I am starting to feel better.
